A Brand New Start
I'd been gamblin' with cards and dice
when a woman gave me some advice
told me of a man she knew
and said that he could change me too
Then she took me by the hand
and told me of a promised land
and my friend I'm tellin' you
that you can know this same man too
Just lift your hands up to the sky
praise the Lord and hold them high
then invite Him into your heart

His name is Jesus He came and died

A Diamond In The Rough...
“A Diamond In The Rough”
I am but a diamond in the rough
and not without flaws
Yet as God polishes me I can see a shine
that I never saw before
He took me and cleansed me

all the rubble in my life
and brought me out from all
the dirt and He illuminated me

Dream Or Reality...
So many times I have to stop and
ask myself is meeting you a dream...
When we kiss our lips seem so
perfect for one another, can

through my body...

Our Love...
I think of you each day and of the
love we share, and when I do, I recall
the passion and the desires of our

fulfilled all of my dreams and

My First Love...
My first love will always be
Jesus who saved me

He lifted me up when I was down
and told me that one day I would wear a crown
He's given me joy when others wanted me to die

and brought me out of my sinful ways

Lesson Learned
The days are lonely and the nights are cold
without you here to love and hold.
I hear my cries for days gone by and feel the pain and release my sigh.
I look into my heart so deep
and I wonder why our love wouldn’t keep.
The years have passed and we’ve both moved on

My Mamma Myself...
I now see my mamma in me
but when I was younger I didn't want it to be
but then as I grew I could see her love
and I knew then that she was a gift from above
She loved me even when my choices were bad
and made her cry and made her sad
she told me that I would one day see
what it's like to be a mamma just like me
and true to her words I now know
that I am reapin' what I did sow
both good and bad have come home to me
and now I know what it means to be a mamma
who loves her children unconditionally...

Memories Never Forgotten
I think of you and my tears stream down
I thought you were gone forever and that
my heart would never mend.

yet did you really get to know me first before you labeled me.
Did you ask me first why I feel or say what I do or did you just assume I am dirt,
Did you give me a chance to be a friend before you threw me under the bus with your words...
Did you stop to think instead of bringing me down you might actually be making me stronger
Ironic isn't it that what others mean for harm God turns to my good.
So in this I thank you for your words

What is this lonely shell we live in that they call a body?
We feed it and nurture it as it grows and strengthens,
yet it feels no happiness anymore. We've tried giving it
love and letting love come in, yet it only seems to cause

Therefore what is this shell really for is it just to

true love and happiness...
Is there no room for that in this shell we call a body...

Loss Of Innocence - Captive Redeemed...
Shhh, I hear him walking in the darkness
the sound and thoughts takes a toll on my mind
Don't say a word perhaps he won't see me

A Time Gone By...
I remember a time gone by
when you would run to me
laughing with your arms open wide,
a time when we shared hugs, kisses,
cuddles and giggles
a time when we would run and play
with the sand under our feet
a time when I could kiss your boo boo's away
and you looked at me in amazement
a time when I held your hands
as we crossed the streets
a time when I would sit and
watch you sleep
a time when I held you in my arms
knowing all to soon you'd be grown
a time that for a moment
seemed to stand still
a time of the past yet ever
present in my heart
a time that seemed to go all to quick
and no longer stands still
a time of time gone by is here....

As Parents...
As parents we have made both good and bad choices
we will later regret the bad choices and wish we could change them
but we can't
we can't undo what has been done as much as we would love to
therefore we can only try to do better
parenting is one of the hardest yet most rewarding things
in life we can be a part of
we can read all the books on parenting we want
yet first hand experience is out best teacher
there are no perfect parents
as much as we would like to believe there is
we want our children to always look at us as hero's
yet not all do
we must continue to strive to be better parents
yet at times feel that isn't enough
even so we must keep doing our best
there will be times we have to tell our children no
not because we don't love them
but because we love them enough to say no
we hope that someday our children will understand
and always know that we love them...
